Google Ads Management Ireland: Fees, Process and Results

Precision paid-search controls focusing light on a conversion

Google Ads management should turn paid search into a controlled customer-acquisition system. For an Irish business, that means choosing profitable demand, building relevant landing experiences, measuring real outcomes and adjusting spend from evidence—not simply buying more clicks.

This guide explains common management fees, what an agency should do, which numbers matter and how to prepare an account you continue to own.

What Google Ads management includes

  • Commercial discovery and forecast assumptions.
  • Account, campaign and conversion architecture.
  • Search-term, audience and competitor research.
  • Ad copy, assets and landing-page alignment.
  • Bidding, budgets, locations and schedules.
  • Negative keywords and traffic-quality control.
  • Consent-aware conversion and revenue measurement.
  • Testing, reporting and sales-quality feedback.

Management is separate from the media budget paid to Google. Confirm this distinction in every proposal.

Google Ads management fees in Ireland

Model Indicative range Watch for
Setup project €500–€2,000+ Tracking, research and landing pages may be separate.
Fixed monthly fee €400–€1,500+ Define campaign count, reporting and optimisation time.
Percentage of ad spend Commonly 10%–20% Set a minimum and ask how incentives are managed.
Hybrid or performance component Custom Define attribution, lead validity and cancellation terms.

These are indicative planning figures, not a fixed Irish tariff. Complexity, spend, markets, products, creative, feeds and landing-page work affect the fee. See our separate Google Ads cost Ireland guide for budgeting media and acquisition.

Account ownership and access

Your business should own its Google Ads, Analytics, Tag Manager and Merchant Center accounts. Invite an agency through managed access; do not let essential history live permanently inside an account you cannot control. Use named users and appropriate permissions.

Discovery before launch

A manager should know your gross margin, sales capacity, locations, lead-to-sale rate, average order value, repeat purchase behaviour and exclusions. These determine an affordable acquisition cost.

For example, a €100 lead is excellent if a qualified lead reliably produces €1,500 contribution. It is wasteful if most leads fall outside the service area. The same cost-per-lead can mean opposite things.

Campaign and keyword structure

Group demand by customer intent and landing-page promise. A branded search, an urgent local service, a research query and a competitor name should not be treated identically. Review the actual search terms that triggered ads and add negative keywords where irrelevant intent consumes budget.

Use location settings deliberately. A nationwide setting may be correct for an online service and expensive for a business serving only Cork. Check whether targeting is based on presence, interest or both.

Landing pages are part of management

The ad makes a promise; the landing page must fulfil it. Match the service and location, show useful proof, answer objections and make the next step obvious. Fast mobile performance and accessible forms matter. Our landing-page design guide provides a practical framework.

Conversion tracking for Irish advertisers

Define primary actions that influence bidding—purchases, qualified forms, booked consultations or verified calls—and secondary diagnostics such as brochure downloads. Import offline outcomes when the sale happens later.

Google says enhanced conversions can supplement existing measurement using hashed first-party data. Hashing does not remove your compliance responsibilities. Ireland’s Data Protection Commission states that targeted advertising and conversion-tracking cookies normally require consent, with clear withdrawal controls. Read our Irish conversion tracking guide before implementation.

Metrics that lead to better decisions

Metric Question it answers
Search terms What did people actually ask for?
Conversion rate Does the traffic and page produce action?
Cost per qualified lead What does a plausible opportunity cost?
Sale rate and revenue Do leads become customers?
ROAS or contribution Does revenue or margin justify spend?
Impression share Where is reach limited by budget or rank?

Click-through rate and Quality Score are useful diagnostics, not final business goals.

What should happen every month?

  1. Validate spend, tracking and material account changes.
  2. Review search terms, placements and geographic quality.
  3. Compare leads with CRM or sales feedback.
  4. Adjust budgets and bids around commercial evidence.
  5. Test a meaningful hypothesis in ads or landing pages.
  6. Report decisions, outcomes and next actions plainly.

Agency red flags

  • The agency owns the account or will not provide access.
  • Success is reported only as impressions and clicks.
  • No distinction exists between a lead and a qualified lead.
  • Broad automation launches without conversion validation.
  • Search terms, exclusions and location quality are ignored.
  • Landing pages and consent are “someone else’s problem”.
  • Results or returns are guaranteed.

Google Ads management FAQs

How much ad spend should I start with?

Enough to test a defined market and learn without threatening cash flow. Estimate click costs, conversion rates and sales value, then set a capped learning budget. Tiny spend across too many campaigns produces weak evidence.

How quickly can campaigns work?

Ads can generate visits after approval, but dependable optimisation requires valid conversions and sales feedback. Treat the first weeks as controlled learning.

Should management include SEO?

They are separate channels but should share demand research, landing pages and customer evidence. Compare the roles in our SEO versus Google Ads guide.
